What happens?
Each session lasts 50 minutes. In the first session the vast majority of the time will be given to listening to you tell me about yourself and what circumstances bring you to counselling at this time.
This will give us a chance to explore your reasons for coming and to talk about whether counselling might be right for you. Some people may be nervous when coming to counselling for the first time; this normal and understandable as it is a big step. Rest assured that you do not have to do anything special, just be willing to talk about yourself and open to change.
You are under no obligation to continue counselling after the first session. If you feel you would like to work with me and I feel it will be of benefit to you, we will arrange a regular time to meet. This would usually be once a week, but you may prefer fortnightly sessions depending on your needs, schedule and financial situation.
